I bought iMovie for the iPad almost a year ago, and have never used it until today that I dared to edit a video with it. I delayed using it because I thought it was going to be a pain in the ease to do the whole process, well it was the complet opposite. It took me less than 20 minutes to do a 2 min clip of my latest trip to Toledo in Spain.
I used video I shot with my Canon S100, so I just imported the video files through the dock connector to the iPad directly. I have a high speed SD card so import is pretty quick and a 64GB iPad with enough space to store video files.
I would say this is the future of video editing, using a touch screen interface. It makes much easier the video manipulation and eliminates the need of complex track balls and video editing jog wheels and controllers to do the job. At least with the iPad editing was fairly easy and intuitive.
This is how it looked when I was editing my latest video from my visit to Toledo, you can check the video below. It is not Spielberg quality but it does the job and at least I get to have a nice clip of my trip with cool elevator music.
iMovie edit workflow
1. Import video through dock connector or iTunes
2. Select the best clips
3. Open iMove project
4. Choose wether you want to do a trailer using the themes or or normal video edit
5. Drag the videos you want on the timeline
6. Retouch, cut, and add text or transitions.
7. Review and export

This time I will teach you how to develop WordPress on your Mac with MAMP, a solution that allows you to build a WordPress site locally without using a server nor hosting. MAMP in an application for Mac OS, that emulates a server environment on your computer, giving you all the tools necessary to run Apache and MySQL, for CMS and database integration.
Local WordPress development is particularly useful when you don’t have access to a server or hosting. It is good when you want to replace a website with 0 downtime, by just deploying the new files. In my case it has helped me have more control over a WordPress installation, since I can setup everything offline and upload the website to the server when it is 100% ready to go online. This is useful in terms of SEO when you want Google to crawl your website only when it is fully deployed, instead of having it crawl your website when it is under construction and has very little content.
